Well, there are several types of ways you can tune your guitar, but from your request for instructions on how to "drop tune" I assume you mean one of two tunings.
#1. Drop D, this detuning allows you to play power chords by simply fretting the E, A and D strings all on the same fret. It is great for fast switching power chords from songs like Spoonman by Soundgarden. To do this tuning, simply tune your low E string down to a D note. I do this by plucking both my E and D strings at the same time and lowering the E string until they ar the same note.
#2. Detuned a half step. A lot of musicians do this for two reasons. One, it lowers the tension on the strings and thus makes the instrument easier to play. Two it allows them to play physically in the same keys they always do, but makes it tonally in a different key. To do this, I hold the A string at the 6th fret and tune the E string with it. Then, using the E string that is now an Eb, tune the rest of the guitar.
I hope this helps!

Well if your ganna drop it pretty low , like a whole step or a whole step and half . Get some heavier strings , just a little more then what you use now . OR you could do the Iommi way and keep with you use and just tune it down . Plus make sure it all tune everywhere . ANd I mean to check if its sorbed .

Do both of the things I told you. Tune it down like I said, then drop the E string to match your D string.
