Inspired by recent discussion at lethal_empathySo it's in almost every fandom involving a pairing with characters of two different nationalities; an alliance needs to be shown and they do it by showing an arranged marriage between Sakura and Gaara. But does that actually work? Is it a realistic situation, least a good plot? Your opinion plz. I don't think so much it's a bad plot idea but more on unrealistic. I don't see any reason why an arranged marriage between Sand and Leaf would be necessary, much less Sakura being chosen as a candidate for it. That's not all, there'd be major trust issues as well, as the only it'd do is force Sakura on Gaara, and as Gaara has had numerous bad experiences with betrayal, he'd definately be suspicious of the whole situation.

It is unrealistic.
I'm not a big fan of it.
Much like Zurg, I prefer the Gaara-stalks-Sakura type of thing. xd

I like the arranged marriage plot. I think it would be realistic, considering that Sakura is Konoha's best medic besides Tsunade, and she's Tsunade's apprentice. Gaara probably wouldn't agree to it, but that wouldn't be the first time the council of elders forced their Kage to do something. Although, I do dislike it when the stories aren't written well. >.< I suppose it's the same with all stories, but I hate it even more when it's an arranged marriage plot. The plot is over used, so an author intends to use it, the author might as well make it good and use correct grammar! gonk

I support the arranged marriage plot. That is a way to make ties from Konoha to Suna more permanent because they are marrying the Kazakage and Konoha's best medic-nin together. Plus, they will eventually get closer.

Im not exactly a fan on arranged marriage plots partly because I for one was once arranged to marry a guy and apparently he was a year younger than me.
Plus I already think that ties between Suna and Konoha are very close already. I mean Gaara even though he is kazekage has friends in Konoha. Why would he want to betray them, when they accepted him aka Rock Lee, Naruto, Sakura and everyone else?
Although the idea is realistic but it seems to leave a bad taste in my mouth though, if the plot somehow twists around and has Gaara and Sakura to fall in love with each other, then it would make the whole idea more feasible.
I've already read a bunch of fanfics concerning that idea and I think its actually popular among many writers.
Well thats my opinion, I neither like it nor dislike it... well depending if the fanfic/ plot turns out to have a happy ending for both Gaara and Sakura.

its not bad but its not good ether.if its well written its ok, but if not then it sorta turns into something like the whole "kidnap sakura to be used as bait and have her fall in love with a random akatsuki menber" thing. its a bit overdone.

I don't like it a lot. It's all the same. They were forced to be married, slowly fell in love, Sakura gets kidnapped, and so on. If the writer can do the whole arranged marrage thing without following the cliche, I'm okay with it.
