The following statement, along with a picture of Chris Benoit, was posted on the WWE website.
"WWE is sad to report that Chris Benoit and his family have been found dead in their home. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Tonight's Raw will be a tribute to Chris and his family."

Most people have questioned wether the news is a story line by WWE, but after a recent post crediting Benoit as one of the best champions on the website, and the fact it wasnt telivised or had a run up, the feeling that this is the truth is very real, tonight, my prayers go out to Benoit and his family.

I never heard about this until just now- I was getting up for work, and I was early, so I thought I'd watch Raw, and to my great surprise, it was a tribute to Benoit's memory. I was hoping they were referring to him retiring or something, but then Vince came out and said that Chris, his wife, and one of his kids died. I thought I'd get onto gaia and see if anybody knew anything more about it.
So, this is real; then? I can't believe this, does it have anything to do with how he no-showed Vengence?

A friend of mine called me today with a warning of disturbing news reguarding why Beniot may not have been at Vegeance last night.
And even as I type this, I still find it hard to believe.
Like this is some terrible nightmare or a humorless joke.
Sadly that's not the case.
Ranking my favorite wrestlers, the top three were in this order.

Christian Cage
Eddie Guerrero
Chris Beniot.

In as many years now, two of the greatest to ever step in the ring are gone. I guess that it's selfish. I want them back. I want to see them wrestle agian. I want to see these two on opposite ends and steal the show.
I guess I'll have to wait for my turn to step beyond the pearly gates to see that again.
My thoughts, sympathies and prayers go out to the family, friends and fans of Chris Beniot.
He will be missed.

It is a very terrible thing indeed. Chris Benoit was a great wrestler and a great man. I am sure his son was just as great, very respectful and well brought up. To know that Chris, Nancy, & Daniel are all dead is overwhelming. And to know that Chris was the murderer and suicidal man, makes it shocking. I still don't believe it, I believe he was framed and killed although that would be hard to believe being the person who killed them would have had to be really big or really skilled.

And when they showed Chris and Eddie sharing the champion spotlight and hugging during the 3-Hour tribute, it made me almost cry. sad I am sure that we will all miss Chris, and we will honor both him and Eddie for years to come. <3
