She blinked, a look of disappointment crossing her features before she slid a makeshift mask on. She picked that up from her father also, a trick only master vampires could have, or most did.
She even turned her gaze to the flute in her lap, picking it up and pressing the mouthpiece to her lips. She wasn't sure she really wanted to admit to the lady which of the pirates held her young heart...She wasn't trying to be rude...simply wasn't sure how to speak of him.

"I do not mean to sound so condesending of your choice my dear. I ask who he is because of my relationship with that crew. I have rather....deep connections with that ship. Do tell me? Describe his face to me, tell me how you see him."
She really had to know now. If one of the pirates was being a flirt with this girl she intended to make sure he behaved himself. If anything she would ask her son to have a talk with him.

With that, she moved the instrument from her mouth and looked at her.
"His hair's kinda darker then yours, but still a nice contrast to his face...even his eyes seemed to have a kind of greyish blue to them."
She turned her gaze from Calistina and looked to the ocean. For the most part, the day was lovely and should have been one where little children could run along the beach...
"Even his eye was lost but it seems to just enhance his features..."

Her heart sank. Only one man on that ship fit that description. But she hide her emotions from the young girl and looked out over the sea with her.
"I know the man you speak of quite well. You are in love with Raguel, the Bo'Sun of the ship."

She nodded.
"Oui...He is not like the men of courts..."
Even she saw that and it was from the first time she'd met him. She sighed.

"No..not any more. He was one a man of the court. I had high hopes he would be one of the most handsome men there. Put his elven blood won over and he joined Caspian's crew."
She opened the locket that hung around her neck and looked to the small picture of a boy. He looked to be about 12 or 13. He had hair and eyes the same color as Raguel but he still had both of them. Calistina smiled to the girl and showed her the picture.
"It seems you have fallen in love with my dear son."

Julie's whole expression changed then as she stared and blinked dumbfoundly.
"Your son?"
She looked at the younger Raguel in the locket and she found herself even more at a loss for words.

The woman laughed at the girl's expression.
"Oh do you think I am not of child baring age? Or that I would have a son of Raguel's age. Oh my dear I am well past my second century. And yes, Raguel is my son. Not as dutiful as I would like but, I love him all the same. I see even with his scars he still has a way with women. This is a picture of him about two years before he left on that pirate ship. When he still had both eyes and unmarred skin."

Julie shook her head quickly.
"Oh no no...I never thought that at all....Just...I never thought I was actually speaking to his mother...I don't remember him ever speaking about you..."
Julie personally liked Raguel's scars..

The woman smiled again and looked out to the sea.
"He doesn't like to mention me. I think he's afraid the other pirates will think less of him because he came from a wealthy high class background instead of a poorer existance. His job requires that he maintain authority and respect on the ship."

Julie smiled a little.
"That must suck...Even if he doesn't mention you to the crew, he should still be able to talk and stuff."

"Well.......we didn't exactly part on good terms. He ran away when he was only 15 to join that ship. I didn't hear from him for months. Then when he came back he had that horrible bite mark on his shoulder. With that he couldn't come back to court and his heart belonged to the sea and Caspian. We tried to work it out, but I was still so angry and hit disobeying me and running off like that."
Her eyes were a little sad but she pushed it away. Then she looked to the young girl next to her. When she had originally told Calistina who she was in love with, she had this vision of the poor girl joining up with the pirates and straining her relationship with her father.
"So now, whenever we do get to see each other, we usually end up fighting. I still love him dearly but we can only stand each other for so long. He got my temper so its a real struggle to have a civilized conversation with him now. And we use to talk well into the night about things when he was younger. I sort of miss those days."

She listened to her speak and she smiled a little more. Whereas she may have been upset with her father and brother, and their rather domineering ways, she wasn't about to depart for a pirate ship....as much as she thought herself to love the pirate, Calistina was right...Julie loved her baths a little too much to commit herself to a life at sea...
"Have you told him that you missed those days?"
