Yeah so I have been doing a ton of research on electric cars recently and I discovered the technology is developed well enough to adequately provide transportation of 300 miles without a recharge, recharge can be done with a home installation kit or electric recharge stations which were at one point installed in California.
I also found out that car companies killed the electric car because they thought it was not profitable, the same way bastards at GM and Ford think hybrids arent profitable today even though Toyota is making bank on their Prius.
That combined with the fact that BGB (Big Gas Business) is controlling the flow of alternative transporation fuels and effectively destroyed electric cars in the late 90's and early 00's is just sickening!!!
Worst of all the American government is supporting irresponsible capitalism by giving large tax deductions to business owners who purchase large and expensive cars over small, fuel efficient or economically responsible cars. (ie. Hummers give up to 100k tax credit, while a EV only gives 3k).
It seems our only hope for independance from the middle easts gas and L.A's smog is the Hybrid, and although I love America and their vehicles I have to say I no longer support them and now am willing to support Honda and Toyota due to the fact that they actually release better fuel economy vehicles, as soon as a**-monkey Bush shut down the Hybrid studies American car companies left it in the ditch's for Japanese companies to mistakenly pick up due to fear of losing business.
I am in total disgust of American capitalism now, I feel like assassinating our car company CEO's, Congress and Major Oil Company CEO's... surprised I am now dedicating a portion of my life towards the fight for the downfall of the gas companies...
Oh and Hydrogen Fuel Cells is a dumb-a** move, it costs 4 times as much as gas, costs more to produce period and we would have to make atleast 20,000 refueling stations for hydrogen fuel in order to make an effective market go for such a thing.
Whereas electric vehicles costs 60 cents a gallon (converted), the vehicles would cost ruffly the same amount to produce as our current gas powered vehicles when on the mass-market, we dont neccessarily need refueling stations because there are self-install kits for electric vehicles, but if we did install them it would cost less than installing hydrogen fuel cell replenishing facilities. Electric vehicles can travel up to 300 miles without recharge (but the battery that powers this got bought out by Texaco when GM sold its shares to them), and the 300 miles can be improved on as well, electric vehicles at their peak maxxed out at about 90 miles and went 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. All of this is just the beginnings of a new kind of car.
Oh and dont forget, EV's means no pollution, easier maintanence, cheaper refueling and less steel used. Also no oil, grease, or gas. biggrin
So, save the world, make people healthier, save some steel, eliminate our dependance on the middle-east and make some CASH! Sounds pretty ******** good to me.
So GM, shove it up your a**. mrgreen
Even aftet this though I am still going to enjoy my classic gas gussling muscle cars because its a part of history, but if I ever buy a new car it will be a hybrid or an electric vehicle if they ever come out with one.
Also, rent, order, purchase the movie "Who Killed The Electric Car", unless you enjoy killing your lungs and polluting the earth and wasting money then you'll feel like socking a Car Company employee in the face when your done watching it, and this doesnt disclude Japanese motor companies... they are guilty as-well.
I am not here to argue with anyone, I know what I say is fact and can provide evidence to back it up, the movie I directed you at is purely documentary and fairly un-bias, though it was made by EV supporters and the developers of the EV it has commentary from Gas Company CEO's and representatives, the government, Car Company Representatives and the average consumer and scientist and gives you a fair amount of the general atmosphere of the electric cars creation, destruction and hopefully a future revival.
So I suggest either go Electric or Hybrid, or if your really ******** rich and live in Cal get a Hydrogen car.

Blood`Sentinel So GM, shove it up your a**. mrgreen GM is releasing the first all electric mass produce car named the VOLT around 2009-2010. Don't be so quick to judge the big three, all they do is respond to what the American consumer market demands of them. In the late 90's and early part of the 21st century SUV's became very popular. Also a Prius sucks, I'm sorry but having driven one I can easily say that one of those will never grace my gargae. Their power to weight ratio is horrible at best and the price of the vehicle far outweighs the fact that you can save a few dollars at the pump.
