I preordered. And I paid extra to have Eldest in hardcover...sadly I didn't keep that up for Brisingr. Normally that sort of thing would bother me but they still look pretty similar on my bookshelf so it's okay. (Plus, there were no hardcover Brisingrs in stock. Actually, I've never seen one here at all.
I haven't changed my avatar in years...(probably literally)
2007 would be because most of the old lot left around then so the guild died somewhat. So you can still see a lot of 2007 threads here... But the book itself is 2008. You can't argue with pub. dates, can you?
