Cingular must've been bought out by AT&T or something, since my cell phone screen has AT&T down as the provider when it used to have Cingular. It freaked me out when it first started reading as AT&T a few days ago.

No, not bought out, reintroduced. AT&T turned into cingular awhile back, but they're turning back.

Yeah, I know that Cingular used to be AT&T. Still doesn't change the fact that we received no warning whatsoever.

isnt it like whicheveryou are closer to its what it shows? Cause ima Rogers and sometimes shows Fido. And when I go down into the states its some other american company

That's how it was on my cruise ship when we were out at sea. It showed up as some strange number. Sometimes there was nothing at all. If you're out of your area, it usually picks up some other company if you're not near the coverage area of your normal company. It sucks though, because you'll be charged extra if it shows up as another company. I forget what companies showed up when I was in Alaska and Canada.
