I havent read this volume, but in the eps., yeah, light does seem pathetic when he gets caught. I think he deserved to die though, considering all the people he deceived *cough* L *cough* [[it seems like everyone seems sad light died >.>]].
In the end credits of that eps. though, is that L's ghost? or just like his memory of him?
i've been wondering about this for ages... whee

Didn't anybody else feel like the last couple of chapters were rushed? He had gone far enough as to make two notebooks to avoid being caught, and yet they knew about bolth of them. Plus, I never thought Light would shout out his plan like he did... I don't know, I just thought the series would go out in the same mystery-story fashion as it started in.
But then, thats just my opinion. The series was awesome nonetheless. RiP L and Light. crying

Kiruanna I almost burst out laughing when he like went insane and was like: "WHERE THE HEEL IS MISA? NO MISA!!! WHY AREN'T YOU ON THIS TRIP? b***h WHY?" It was funny. Too bad he didn't actually think those words. misa suposily comited suicide after finding out that loght was dead

When I read it, I was crying about it at school I was like, "nooooo why did he die, and why did he die without an ounce of pride?" My friends were highly unimpressed with me.

Pantherezz supposedly, but her lifespan was shorten twice.... After her lifespan was shortened a second time, she was given what remained of Rem's lifespan, because Rem died to save Misa.

After reading it a second time, I agree with Evan Korken. It was really close even with Near and Mello together, and Light would have won if there hadn't been that one miscommunication with Mikami.
I think Light had to die, but it was still rather extreme - especially in the manga, where he'd only had, like, 2 freak-outs in the whole series, and never in public. But the guy was shot, what, three times? I think that can account for some of the spazzing. eek
