does scallpoing your guitar neck really do anything for the sound and playability?

well ... it makes it harder cause it kind of rises the action the strings , but it makes it easier to do bends and virbato . I wouldnt do it , mostly cause love the way fret board feel now .

it doesnt raise the action, so to say, it just raises the distance from the strings to the fret board, the same effect as , say, switching from small frets to extra jumbo, allowing you to bend easier, it actually makes it very difficult to play because you have to get used to only pressing the strings hard enough that it gets the right intonated note, as pressing hard will make everything sound out of tune, especially with chords. IMO its not worth the trouble of getting it done, it doesnt make you play faster, you have a chance of messing up your tone, and quite possible your neck/fretboard. gonk

I'll agree with the discussion about warping your fretboard a bit, but I have played one and you don't have to press hard at all. No cheap or simple gimmick is going to make you a better player like that, but if you tried it and liked it a lot then it's for you. A lot of times you just have to try it out somewhere to find out.

well , the frets are scalloped . Meaning that they're sanded down to kind of dip in . Kind of like old instruments of the old time I guess . Kind of like a sitar too I think . Just look up Yngwie Malmsteen model guitar .
