exercice, do scales and stuff, just get confterble with your bass, untill you can move around on your bass without thinking, after that you can learn anything you want

Im left handed too. but i learned on a right handed bass. so i cant even play lefty bass. but the way i learned how to play was by learning easy slow songs first and working my way up to faster songs

Why don't you turn it over and string opposite the way you would normally?

Well, + You could save up and buy a lefty bass, + "Bite the bullet," and learn how to play right handed, + Restring your bass, (E string would be the in place of the G string, the A string would be in place of the D string, the D would be in place of string A, and the G string would be in place of the E string).

I always used to think I was a left-hander, but I've been learning with a right handed bass and it's been fine...
I did ask the awesome lady in the guitar shop about restringing a right handed bass to be left handed but she said that was the worst thing you could do cause everything else on the bass will get in the way of your arm.

turn the bass upside down and string it the same way then you shouldn't have too much of a problem the guitarest from a local band in my area called To my dearly Departed plays like that. If it's seriously a problem talk to some one about changing the nut for the strape to the other side as well that's not necisary but it is not hard either.

Learn the song at a slow speed, and slowly speed it up to the right tempo. After a while playing fast will become much easier. I had the same problem about 6 months ago, and this worked for me.
