Too bad there hasn't been a RWD Celica since the 80s.

There are AWD Celica's around...hiding...somewhere....
talking bout the Celica GT-4? these suckers r four wheel drive if i remember, it was offered in japan, i dont think it made it to American Soil, I've never seen one here. this car was a rally bred monster.

Engine was a 3S-GTE

the Celica GTFour was based on the production Celica versions and looked almost exactly like one. The latest street version of the car contained some very fine engineering. The 2 liter 4 in-line engine was derived from the atmospheric (non turbocharged) version and delivered anywhere from 220 Bhp in its first versions to 242 Bhp in the latest street GTFour. Turbo lag time was kept within reason due to the use of a small, in-house, CT-20 turbocharger. Many technical innovations where present in this engine and car.

If I remember correctly, didn't Toyota and GM get together for a little while? I'm talking about the Pontiac Vibe; didn't Toyota make a version of that?

I'm not talking about the Matrix, either, although they look kinda similar.

The car you're thinking of is, in fact, the Matrix. The Toyota Matrix and Pontiac Vibe are mechanically identical.

Since I've run emissions tests on both of them, I can tell you that the interior is almost exactly the same as well, right down to the gauge cluster set-up.

This isn't the first time Toyota's thown a bone to GM either. Remember the Geo Prizm? That was a rebadged Toyota Corolla.

Come to think of it, yeah. There's one in the parking lot, and it looks everything like a Corolla. =O

yea, it was the Pontiac Vibe, but in asia its called the toyota Volt, same engine, thats why the Vibe's S/c fits on the VVT-is on toyota vehicles

Detroit's economy sucks right now. I hate to be the one to break your hearts but America might not be making cars anymore. If they do it surely won't be in Detroit and any of the popular car companies right now (ie Ford, Crystler, GM, ect...) will not be nearly as big as they are right now. Governer Granhom and Mayor of Detroit Kilpatric are doing nothing to fix the economy of Detroit. Detroit is now the most dangerous place to live in America as well as the city with the most crimes. My guess is that it's only gonna get worse from here on out. However bad this is, at least we will get to see the rise of new automobile manufacturers all around the US. It doesn't surprise me at all that GM is no longer the largest it does surprise me that they have been the largest for this long. I hope there aren't any Ford lovers out there (I'm kinda one) but Ford will most likely be the first automobile Manufacturer to die out. The only thing that is suporting it is Saleen, FPV, and Shelby even though they aren't doing much to help Ford.
