i can't reach the robot quick enough after he's down to 3 bars of life left how do i get up there quicker this is game is for Ds

All I can say is try to stay nearby when he's about to attack. Jump up into the air and then aim to hit. Hope this helps. Just try to figure out his attack patterns and judge how far away you need to be by that.
If bomb things are rolling down his arm, there is a place on its arm where you can duck (Down) and they will go over you, that should give you some time to reach the robot.

Oh, THAT robot!
Yeah, just duck when he starts shaking, BUT: YOU NEED TO HOLD IT.
Trust me, I got angry the first few times when I pressed down and flew off for no good reason. I love beating that boss over and over again, though. biggrin
