Why is it so important to define one's self? Why do people obsess over 'the art of me'? If you are really going to be true to yourself, then you would most likely not follow any of the things above to the extent that they are described.

We spend too much time on the ego. Whe define what will change? Why obsess over something so pointless? Let alone, and just be. It's much easier. Let go, and don't bother with this stuff.

Hmmm... if it were that easy to let go of the inflated ego and to allow oneself to be immersed by nature. If only. If only.

I admit, it's a lot easier when you have no care for the feelings of most others. In fact, as far as I'm aware, there's only three humans whose thoughts actually mean something to me, and only one of them who I'd do anything for.

I would have to agree with you. Defining oneself places limitations in the mind on what you can and cannot do. If you have no definition, then you can change how you want, with no restrictions on what you will become.

I'm not saying that all limitations are bad, just that they tend to promote, if I may be cliche yet again today, 'thinking inside the box.'

I think of limits as something to be stretched and tested, thus important to know and reevaluate constantly. To think outside the box, there has to be a box to think outside of, something that distinguishes the box from everything else.

Definitions are important in the sense that they make something differentiated and distinct from something or everything else.

But every time you define limits, you tell yourself "this is as far as I can go", and no matter how hard you try, more than likely, you won't surpass your own limits.

As long as you don't trust anyone, you're fine.
