Centuries in the future, the world is covered in snow. A secand ice age had come. The few who are left on this barren wasteland are struggling to survive. Here in this icy world several small communities are repressed and run by a powerful overlord. But one group refuses to go the easy way and listen. They are none other then the Ice Bandits! This small group lives free. Actually they only have two people at the moment, just a couple of petty thieves hoping to get new members.

--

A young bat ran fast from the large factory, persued by to guard robots. His fur parka full of cans that contained some sort of sticky food. As he ran, he took a grenade out of his jacket and pulled the pin, throwing it back at the robots. The grenade exploded in a rush of smoke, and concealed him, allowing him to get away.

He ran until he was out of sight. A snow storm had picked up, but luckily he was almost back. He trudged across the snowy planes until he reached the ruins of a old city, now half buried in snow. He headed to a building and in to the snow tunnel in front of it. He walk down the tunnel until he reached a door that at one point in time had been a fire escape. He pushed the door open and headed inside before shutting the door behind him.

The warm air of inside was wonderful to his chilled hands. What once was the third story now sat beneath the snow. “I’m back!” He called out. His voice echoed though the abandoned cubicles of the old office building. “And with the food you said I wouldn’t be able to get by my self!”

A clapping sound was heard from one of the dark corners of the building. Out of the shadows, a brown ferret wearing a large, multilayered trenchcoat stepped out, clapping her hands softy. "Bravo, bravo." She said half heartidly. "Now why don't you give yourself a gold metal? Oh wait, that's right, all the god**** reserves are burried SNOW. And so are we." Audrey said condisendingly, folding her arms. Without an apology, she turned her back to him and headed towards their food reserve: a janitor's closet whose contents had been taken out. (Or at least what was SUPPOSED to be a food reserve.) "Okay...." She thought aloud. "We got three bottles of ancient soda, what looks like a chocolate bar, a can of frozen peas, a few bags of dried fruit, aaand....." Audrey rummaged through the ancient closet and picked up a scraggley looking jar. "Some pickles. Geez, office people didn't know how to eat. So, what do you have to contribute?" She said, looking at the bat.

He pulls off his stuffed parka and lets the cans spill out. "They're not marked but they smelled good. I stole them from one of those factories that have been popping up." he grins. "I wonder how my parents would feel about me. Little Dweezel, a theif!"

Dweezel chuckles and takes off his snow covered boots. "I wonder what the world was like before it froze?" He walks over to the fire and warms his hands. He sits down on the floor and starts to play with one of his three rings that hang on one ear.

"Hm, not bad." Audrey chuckled as can upon can of something came out of his parka. As she inspected them and tossed them into the closet, she heard Dweezel laugh about how his parents would have reacted about him being a theif. "I'm sure they would have been weeping in the streets." She said simply, inspecting the last of the cans with a suspicious eye.
As she picked it up, she smiled slightly as she heard Dweezel's child-like curiousity of how the world once was. Audrey walked to the fire and sat down next him, a can in each hand. "I imagine..." She grunted slightly, taking off her coat. "It was just like all the elders used to say. Green everywhere....trees....hills....unfrozen lakes." She chuckled. "But that's in the past. We have to try and survive in the here and now." She removed her glove, and, with a quick bite, managed to open the top of the can. Audrey set it next to the fire, letting the sticky liquid heat up. "Besides, how are we gonna get new members at this rate?" She asked, taking Dweezels can and doing the same as the first. Once she put it beside the other, she hugged her legs, looking at her bat-acomplice.
