I've been thinking about creating a new Role Play for a while now. I wanted to make something slightly different from what we have now.
You obviously cannot go wrong with the tried-and-true medieval setting, but this time I'd like to try the futuristic, not too unlike Star Wars or Star Trek. I'm asking for ideas, perhaps some hints to storylines, what kind of "universe" we would like, what we should base things on, or what parts we should make up. ^^
I would like to keep the characters together obviously, or we could have two separate storylines at first, and merge them after we have established a feel for the Role Play. I'm completely open to all sorts of ideas towards ships, plots, alien races, government-types, "law" enforcement groups, antagonistic forces, and anything else to make this world really alive.
Ponder on this, and kindly return some feedback to my idea once you've reached a conclusion biggrin I'd love to make this, but I've love for everyone to help take part in it.

I think a space pirate type RP would be a great idea! Maybe you could pull from each of them, a little of all worlds then continue to make up as we go.
Would it be like one ship that we would all control and everyone would have a different position?

OO OO! I WANT WEAPONS EXPERT!!! *grins evilly* Or mad scientist who knows EVERYTHING about weapons and likes to *cough*"upgrade"*cough* the weapons to make them better! LOL!!! but mostly weapons expert! LOL!

Preferably I would like to have it on one ship, yes, though with the plot I'm sort of playing with, we may split up and come back to the main ship several times.
We can take what we like from both series, light saber type weapons from Star Wars, the endless technological stuffs from Star Trek. Can even pull the cheesy, "Beam me up, " line or "Use the Force" if that's what we all agree on. ^^
However, I would like to restrain the magic in this one. Each race can have a unique ability. But when I say ability, I'm thinking that we should toss out the 'controls fire/ice/earth' kind of magics for once. ~IF~ I decide that a character will not abuse the Force-like powers I think I'll allow, I will PM that person. Keep in mind, I'm looking for someone who would show a deep understanding of wielding such a power. Sorry, but *taps into the power of the Force to fly up high and kills the droid without a weapon* won't cut it. I would like to think that the character must have a high mental discipline similar to the Jedi before even being able to begin to use it.
Back to the race abilities though lol, got myself sidetracked. Enhanced senses are good, though preferably just one or two, we don't want to make any Godly races that are too powerful. Your race could be aquatic, adapted more towards desert-like climates, jungles, you name it. Could even have some different qualities, like, perhaps being able to sense vibrations easily, or your race can make such high frequency screeches, you can stun other races momentarily. However, I would like to review these to ensure they're not all-powerful. Just make sure you have fun with creating a unique species and their abilities ^^ If you'd rather keep yours more human-like, that's fine as well.

P.S. I was hoping for eccentric mechanic/pilot biggrin

Honestly, I feel like Saiyans are way too powerful. Having means to destroy entire planets with just a handful of fighters? Sorry... I want an antagonistic force, yes, but I don't want it to just be one species. They're terribly close to God-modding with that much strength, not to mention the monkey thing and the ten zillion Super Saiyan levels.
Don't get me wrong, I like the show. I've watched several sagas of it on the first DB and DBZ, Goku and Oolong are hilarious and Master Roshi just cracks me up, I just feel they're too powerful of a force on their own.
Besides, I like the idea of us creating species of our own and playing around with their strengths and weaknesses. That being said, please don't make an almost Saiyan-like race either. This is where you let your imagination and creativity go on a field trip! ^^ Have fun with this new race.
