Chapter 1
Captain Stephen and Lillix Bellatrone

As the sun shone brightly across the crystal blue sky, the brave vessel the Blackfire was soaring to new heights. The mast was waving proudly in the wind, baring the bright symbol of a black crystal with two swords across it and the letters B and P in gothic writing under it. Inside the ship, young Alexis was once again dreaming of how she and her two loyal friends Eric and Lillix were fighting against the evil pirates of the Rouge. But, every time during the dream, the ending would just float away, leaving it’s bearer in a swirl of mystery. She hated it when this happened, and was resolute to figure out the conclusion. In the meantime, however, she had other things to worry about, like getting out of bed. Alexis sat up, stretched, and looked out the window to the sun. Judging by its point in the sky, it was probably near noon. She decided to go up to the observation deck, because for some odd reason it always soothed her to look out into the sky. When she got up to the deck, Captain Stephen was smoking a pipe, and glanced in her direction.

“Well, it seems that our young warrior pirate Alexis finally decided to get up this morning!” he chuckled.
“Same to you, Captain. How did you sleep?”
“Wonderfully, knowing that you put those sailors on Rouge to rest! Ha, ha!”
“Well, I have to admit, Captain, those bloody “Rouge warts” can put up a fight when they’re up to it. I could barely skim them with my sword!!”
“Ah, well. ‘Tis all over, now! C’mon, mate. Let’s go in and have some tea.”
“Aye, Captain.”

Stephen and Alexis went inside the dining hall and sat down.Ere long, Lillix came down the stairs and sat by Alexis.

“Ah! Beautiful day, isn’t it?” she quoted.
“Umm….Yea! Of course! Today’s going to be great!”
“Alexis! Snap out of it, girl! You’re daydreaming again!”
“Whatever…oh look! It’s Eric! Here, here, Eric!!”
“Yea, pay attention to HIM, not me! Psh, so much for listening.”
At that moment, a tall, dark, handsome boy with gorgeous black hair came walking down the hall. His eyes were a crystal blue, as clear as the skies themselves. He also had a terrific smile. When he got to the table, he sat down by Alexis, whom almost fainted.
“ Ello, Alexis! Lillix! So, what are my two favorite troublemakers up to, eh?”
“Oh, nothing of that sort, Eric!” Alexis stated.
“Right….and HOW exactly am I supposed to believe that?”
“Er….you should.”
“Why?”
“I….er….umm…..heh heh….”

Just then Lillix shouted, “Oy! Eric! Can I talk to you for a moment?”

“Sure, mate. One moment, Alexis. You mind?”
“Nah…..I’m good.” When the two friends walked around the corner, Alexis mumbled, “b***h…”

So when Eric and Lillix were out of hearing range, Lillix stated,

“When are you going to freakin tell her?”
“Tell her what? I like eggs? Yea right, Lillix. It’s not that easy.”
“Whatever, just tell her, kay?”
“Aight.”

They walked back towards the table and sat down. They talked about random things for 10 minutes when the bell sounded. The friends jumped out of their chairs and ran upstairs towards the deck. When they got up there, about every single sailor was trying to inch their way forward towards the Captain, but none prevailed.

“Alexis, c’mon! We’re being ambushed by the Caterians! They’re right on our tail! Go, fetch Dyrim and be rid of them! Everyone else, GET TO YOUR POSTIIONS!!” the Captain boomed. The Caterians were a jealous and evil group of pirates, and their main goal? CRUSH THE ENEMY. Alexis HATED this group because last time, one of the pirates fired a flaming arrow and hit Dyrim in the shoulder!! He was very badly wounded, and he was just now getting better. With her mission handed to her, she ran to her room, grabbed her sword, threw on her battle gear, and ran up to the highest deck to call out to Dyrim. Oh, and did she mention?
Dyrim is a big, blue, flying dragon.
