I have heard that left handed people drape it behind and that right handed people prefer the front. Strange knowledge, but my inlaws are lefty's and theirs are behind.

SydneySkye I have heard that left handed people drape it behind and that right handed people prefer the front. Strange knowledge, but my inlaws are lefty's and theirs are behind. Oh, interesting! I like it behind, because that's how it's always been in my house, but then again, my mom is left handed. I use my left hand to pull at it too so I guess I'm left handed in the toilet paper department. xD rolleyes

I go behind.
I remember an episode of the Simpsons where Grandpa had to watch the kids and child protective services was going to take them away for, among other things, having the toilet paper hung in the "Improper, overhand fashion." I have no idea why that particular joke has stayed with me all these years, but this thread make think of that. xd

Lol, very interesting!
I posted this poll in my journal/blog, and it was overwhelmingly "over the front," so I'm interested to see if the trend of behind will continue.

I'm a behind girl all the way! To the extent that if I'm at a friends house, and have had a couple of drinks with my dinner, I often find myself switching theirs over!
Oh, and no, not left handed here...neither are my family, but I don't think my family really cared if it was behind or in front, just happy to have it there!

It should go under than over so the roll points towards the outside. It is also always smart to keep one extra roll on top of the toilet for the inevitable roll running out while still using it.

Whatever way it is placed there. Nothing is done on purpose.
