Tendou screamed as she watched Fisk fall. She hadn't grown especially attached to the man, but she didn't think he'd fall so easily. Her abilities were far from being able to heal the wound that gushed forth his life's blood. The crimson liquid staining the ground around him.

Tenma had to defend her twin once again. "Snap the ******** out of it!" she shouted at her, brining her back to reality.

Tendou realized she still had the object in her hand and headed for the only person left that was likely to be able to protect her. "B-Brandon!" she cried out, scrambling toward him. "I've got what they want." She cried out again wordlessly as another lizard creature stabbed at her with a spear.

"Oh, no you don't!" Tenma growled as she hit it away with another flame attack.

Across the battlefield, somehow Vena was managing to hold her own well enough, though she had sustained some serious damage in the form of slashes to both hands. "If you ruin my hands, I'll flay you!" she shrieked with the violence of an angry banshee as she sliced one of the lizards' arms off.

Jack had been trying to get close enough to the group the entire battle to be of some help, knowing that by himself he was as good as dead against these things. There were too many of them and he only had so many rounds before he was just about defenseless. He had some hand-to-hand training, sure, but he didn't think he was going to be able to even hold his own without at least one person watching his back, which made him regret his decision to stay a little ways away from the group. He had hoped to cause confusion on his way in, but now that plan didn't look like it was too likely.

But when he noticed a change in the lizard men's behavior, he knew he had to reach the group, no matter what. So he finally started to move, and just as he entered the area three lizards turned their attention away from the group and came straight for him. Jack raised the gun with lightening speed and his finger twitched once for each of the lizards before he realized the gun had jammed. By then it was too late to fight and all he could do was let out a scream that quickly turned into a bloody gurgle as one spear cut deep into his throat and two more in his stomach. His palms where badly slashed open from where he tried to grab the spear before it hit his throat, but his hands moved too fast and ended up being sliced to ribbons by the spearhead.

He was dead within seconds.

Grave didn't even twitch as he watched Fisk and Jack fall to the savage blades of the lizards... They were both men who should be prepared for the end; no matter how unexpected or odd, but these young girls were not the same in his eyes. they needed his help and the one called Tendou even called out for his help.

At the sound of his cursed name the reaper sprung into action. A swift kick sent three of his attackers flying into the surrounding tree trunks, shattering their ribs and ending their roles in the fight, another two fell to his fists as he began to run towards Tendou, and the final remaining enemies fell to bullets from graves well practiced gunning dash.

Tendou made it to Grave's side quickly and practically latched onto his arm. She held her gun in one hand and the strange object in the other, still not having looked at what it was. The thing itself was still covered in blood.

Tenma was not short behind. She had recovered her gun from where she had set it. "Tendou!" she shouted at her twin, to get her attention. "Give him your weapon," she instructed. It was odd for Tenma to be so commanding, but then, this was only the second time they'd been in combat, and she was the more level headed, somehow. Tenma handed Grave her gun as an example.

Tendou nodded and did the same with hers. Both guns had full ammo.

((There ya go Grave. mrgreen ))

Tenma took the object from Tendou and looked at it. It looked like a stone, carved into a shape. But the shape wasn't really anything discernible. "Stay next to me," Tenma told her sister. She wouldn't ever admit it, but her sister's behavior in battle was beginning to worry her. She had handled herself relatively well before, but the adrenaline was beginning to get to her. Logically speaking, Tendou had never handled adrenaline before, so it almost made sense.

Suddenly they heard the voice of the woman from before echo above them. "You have two minutes," she intoned.

Grave spun the pistols on his fingers as he slowly moved between the girls and the approaching enemies. Then as if on an outside order grave stomped his left foot into the ground and shot a bullet under his arm narrowly missing the twin and taking a lizard out of a tree near Vena. The giant quickly spun and looked to his left firing another shot into a nearby troupe of lizards injuring many of the creatures beyond combat ability.

'Two minutes...' Grave was at the ready staring at his opponents before him and feeling those beyond his gaze. Then he raised his voice to the level of a normal persons voice, an act that was rare indeed. "Vena, if you want to live get over here!"

Vena heard the command and followed it, pretending it was of her own accord. The giant seemed to know what he was doing. Truthfully, she was afraid. After having died once, one would think she would be satisfied with just another death. The problem was the way she would die, should she die in this situation. It would be a blow to her pride.

Tenma spent her time defending Tendou, who protected the object in her hand.

"One and a half," the voice echoed.

The giant's defense was nearly perfect, he fired at his opponents while gun dancing around the group with sweeping slides and stomping turns. Most of the enemies were taken down in groups with a single well paced shot, but when an enemy did break the ranged line and moved into close combat it was quickly dispatched with a crushing kick.

"I am beginning to run low on ammo..." Beyond the Grave did not hesitate or pause as he said this but he was slowly allowing more and more enemies to get in close in an effort to conserve his ammo. Then the "dance" stopped... One of the creatures had not died under the mighty stomp it had received and was now holding onto the giant's leg with it's teeth. The creature was quickly kicked away but the defense was broken. Grave quickly raised his guns to ward off any attackers who would try to take advantage of the opening.

Three tried. One from behind.

During his flurry, he hadn't even noticed that the 'one minute' tick had already gone by. The voice echoed again, "Thirty seconds."

The lizard that attacked from behind got hold of Tenma's arm. It had been going for Tendou, but the purple haired twin threw her body in the way.

"Holy s**t!" she screamed as the thing ripped some flesh from her arm, before she scorched it with another flame attack.

Grave was moving like he was possessed as he took out the enemies moving on for their chance to take the prize the young ninjas protected. He was sure that he had stopped all of the comers when he heard Tenma scream. The giant turned to see the creature tear into the her arm. A growl rose up in his throat as his field of vision began to blur... A blue fire could be seen seeping out from behind his dark shades.

Grave reached out and grabbed the charred creature by the head, crushing it and slinging the body into another of the oncoming creatures. Then the giant began firing. The blasts sped up as they sounded off, all three of the attacking lizardmen twitched in the air as their flesh was ripped apart by a rain of copper and lead cut through them. Within moments their forms were no longer recognizable but the giant continued to pull the triggers until the magazines ran dry.

Upon hearing the dry snap of the pin Grave tossed his pistols at the targets, striking them in mid air. He was now weaponless but more than a match for any lizard that stepped up. He also had no idea what the timer was for but he would be ready. He was in Column Mode... few things could withstand his might in this stage.

"Eeep!" the cry escaped Tendou's lips as she started to disappear. "Wha-" but she was gone. Then Vena began to vanish, then Tenma, and finally Grave.

---- AREA CHANGE ----
PostPosted: Fri Jan 18, 2008 7:14 am

As Tenma appeared, her sister threw her arms around her. "I was so scared," Tendou sobbed. Tenma was just dazed. She looked at her arm, where the creature had torn her flesh, and it had been healed. Strange.

Where it had been before, the figure of a woman was standing again, arms crossed.

Grave's eyes were still emitting a low glow as he regained his composure. The sudden change in area actually was enough to snap him out of "the mode." But the giant was in no hurry to fight... he had experienced his fill during his lives. At least he was good at fighting, but something was odd.

Grave had arrived a bit later than the others and missed Tendou's statement. He did however give the twins a brief glance as he looked around the room. A very slight smile could be detected in his eyes... He had done it. He brought as many as he could back from the mission. He would have liked a better result but this was acceptable.

The giant only spared his host a glance before he walked over to the nearest wall and slowly slid down the barrier into a sitting position. His hat covered his eyes as he continued to think about the events of the mission. Then he noticed the lack of pain. That is what was missing... the injuries were gone. The reaper tested for pain, tensing and relaxing muscles all over his body in an effort to feel for any flesh woulds... but there were none. After a bit more effort that would have just looked like settling and shifting to others he gave up... There were many things he didn't understand about his newest life.
