Well that was dum I didn't even tell my own story! So here it is for what it's worth - I had gotten 4 neon tetras and decided to name them John,Paul, George and Ringo after the Beatles, right? So then,a while later, one dies - John (hey each fish looks a bit different,y'know?I could tell them apart).Weird,I thought,John Lennon was the first to die, back in the 80s.Then,after a while longer,George died!A bit of a freaky coincidence,eh?I wonder if I should take the next fishy death as a bad sign.... eek

I can't say if it's a "wacky fish tale" or not, but I was camping a few weeks back in a creek and caught 10 or so trout and now they're living happily in a tank at home with my danio xD

If I turn the light on in the middle of the night my catfish swim into the walls. With audible thunks. gonk
Oh yeah, one time one of them tried to jump into the filter.
I think catfish freak out more when there's a lot of them.

I had a guppy that jumped INTO my biowheel. I thought he had been eaten by another fish... But something told me to bug my boyfriend to check there and sure enough he netted little Guppy ( my feeder ) right out.

Hmm had something simmilar happen with my blue female betta Cleoptra, she made 5 ghost shrimp disappear. She couldn't get rid of the fidler crabs though.

She is the most amazing fish I ever had, I had thought her to jump on a small plastic plate on top of the water for food and to swim through a plastic ring.

Once I forgot to close the lid at night and the next morning I found her nearly dried up on the floor. With a faint hope I tossed her back in to the aquarium and lo! She lived. The side that had been on the floor stayed black forever and her eye had turned white, but she managed to become about 7 years old.

She has however killed quite a few fish though.
Her brother; Ceasar.
Another ruby male betta; Merel.
A couple of marmered angel fish.
All my male guppies.
The shrip didn't even last a week.
And the scared the living daylights out of my Labeo Bicolor which was 3 times her size.
The only thing she could not take on was a male fidler that was the same size as her.

My most favorite fish ever. whee

One of my male bettas from late 2005, Chinook, was just awesome. Every time I went to his little tank to feed him some freeze-dried bloodworms, he would wiggle around like a worm, as if he was dancing. SO FUN TO WATCH. But he died of severe ich. Dx

Another story, is where my sister's blind cavefish was in the 33gal with all of my guppies, tetras, etc. Well, eventually, nearly all of my guppies disappeared within a few days. So I spend well over an hour watching the tank... and I catch the cavefish red-finned, eating another one of my guppies. I kept him in an ice cream bucket for nearly a year, only feeding him once. That was well over a year ago. Now, he lives in a 2.5gal acrylic tank in the basement. My sister looks after that monster now.

That's an interesting story. Bettas normally live 2 or 3 years tops. The ones sold at stores are already adults so many barely make it to their first year.
Your fish has doubled her life expectancy. You should contact biologists and show them your fish (assuming Cleopatra is still alive).
