I've been having trouble with these for a while:
1. How do you get the pig to find a truffle?! I've put him by Mora trees for really long periods of time, sometimes I even stand there with him for the whole day. All he does is sniff a little and then go to sleep! And I've tried digging them up myself, but that doesn't ever work. I dig around the tree like this:

Obviously the T is for tree.
2. Is there an easier way to get to the underground lake? every time I get to level 98 or around there, it keeps on shooting me back up. Is there a trick?
3. How do I get the mixing pot from Saibara? I have like 9 or ten hearts with him, but it doesn't trigger the event when I walk inside his house.

I don't know about 1 or 3, but for 2, you can use the hoe to hoe your way and find a stairway down.

you have to get atleast 3 hearts and hell do this:
(?) then you dig there it will be from 1 to 100 gold or a truffle

The best method to find the truffle is to not use your pig at all (he takes forever and he might actually eat your truffle).
Instead in the beginning of the Fall hoe all around the the mora trees (the truffles are often two or three squares away from the tree).

When you see that a till spot is back to normal some time later till there and you'll likely find a truffle.
You get the Oink Oink Note regardless of whether you use your pig or not.

1. I have no idea. I'm gonna try Shedding Ink's advice.
2. Even though it works when you use the hoe it practically takes you all day (and night) to get there which means you will tire yourself out and faint before you even get to the bottom. I read somewhere that if you hold Z, it actually helps you go down more. It does but once you reach the last 10 floors it's all about luck.
3. I think you're talking about the aging pot. You need to befriend Saibara and the Mayor in order to do so. One day when you enter his shop, Saibara will say that he hurt himself but he needs to deliver a Aging pot to the Mayor. You accept (I think on your own free will or against) and do what he asked. YOu recieve the recipe for Potato Gratin from the Mayor and the Aging pot from Saibara. If that's not what you're talking about, tell me.
