Have any of you guys been watching the new series on The History Channel called "The Universe"? I really liked the first episode on the Sun but the 2nd episode about Mars was a little boring. I hope the rest of the series is as good as the first episode.
Thoughts and reactions to the series are welcome here.

I unfortunatly don't have cable...or a good TV for that matter. I'll try to look them up online.
Sounds interesting!

Last night I watched the episode about deep space threats to earth. I'll tell you what, Gamma Ray Bursts scare the heck out of me. The scenario that the astronomers proposed would happen if one of those happened within 100,000 light years away was absolutely frightening. Lets just say, vaporization of all humans on that side of the planet, no more ozone, and the other side of the earth most likely would have conditions similar to a nuclear winter.

yeah, that is scary.
I once watched a documentory on the sun... with Morgan Freeman as the nararator...haha
The sun is scary with it's outbursts of solar flare's and such...and even scarier is that it is soo close.

I like that show... and the one on Mars was cool, but not as cool as the gamma ray bursts episode domokun
I always wondered why it was on history and not science or discovery. It is history, but it's also science and discovery! burning_eyes
