A purring sound came out from Tristas throat. She loved the sweet attention this numa were giving her. Never had she had someone to pet her like this. Or at all.
With closed eyes she nuzzled closer to the numas paw. Happy that the numa didnt make fun of her lack of speech. Trista felt a little emberessed. Should she be able to speak? She didnt know. Never had use for it before.

Licorice smiled at the purring thing and continued the loving attention, one paw scritching under its chin while her other did the same to her cheek, adoring its soft, wet fur. "Do you live in the river?" Licorice asked, hoping the little one would be able to answer 'yes' and 'no' questions by nodding or shaking its head. She could only assume it did live there considering the shape of its tail, a rare moment of intelligence for Licorice.

Trista looked back behind her at the river and then back to Licorice. Then smiled widely and nodded excitedly. Happy to be able to somehow communicate with this thing. Tho she wished she could ask things too. Wobbly getting up on her feet, Trista realized using her legs and paws wasnt that easy as it had looked to be.

Licorice held her paws close, ready to catch the little one if it fell. "Are you hungry?" she offered, wanting to get to know this little creature more. "We can go get some gumdrops! And the grass will be softer for you to figure out how to walk on." Licorice nodded, not oblivious to the trouble the little one was having and certain it would hurt itself if it tried on the slippery and rocky mud by the river.

Hungry? she thought to herself. What did it mean? It did sound familliar. The fish had spoken of it. Hungry.. hungry... ah yes.. Trista rubbed her tummy and nodded, as to saying she was a little hungry, curious to find out what gumdrops were. Waging her tail slowly she sat down on Licorice palm again, ready to be escorted, gently cuddling.

Licorice cradled the little one in one arm as she walked away from the river, careful not to jar her until they were underneath a gumdrop tree. The black and white numa set down the little one and hopped up to grab a gumdrop from the lowest branch, setting it on the ground. "Here you go!" she purred, curling up on the grass with her new friend.

Tristas big eyes eyes the, to her, big candy. Then tried licking it. Her eyes widened and became bigger. Never had she tasted something so sweet and juicy. With a huge grin she looked up at Licorice. Wondering what this thing was for something.

Licorice giggled at the tiny creature's reaction to the gumdrop. "Like this." Licorice reached up and tore a small, bite-sized piece from the gumdrop and ate it, chewing thoroughly before swallowing. She then took a much smaller piece and held it down for the little one to take.
