Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora checked into a treatment facility in California after it was reported he had difficulty getting through a studio taping.
"Richie Sambora has entered an undisclosed treatment facility in Los Angeles," a representative for Bon Jovi said in a statement to E! News. "He asks that you respect (his) and his family's privacy at this time."
Bon Jovi was in a studio Tuesday to film the June 22 concert special for "MTV Unplugged," with subsequent air dates on VH1 June 23 and CMT June 24.
Sambora, whose father died of complications from lung cancer earlier this year, checked into the facility Wednesday.
It was not known whether his treatment would affect Bon Jovi's summer tour schedule, which includes several European dates beginning June 24 in London. The band earlier said a world tour to promote its 10th studio album, "Lost Highway," will not kick off until 2008.
