Under the expansionist policies of Empress Tahiri Veila Panjirinanu, Calimdoor was selected to be the home of a new shipyard. A venture marketeer took the commission and had seven ship yards built under the name Calimdoor Drive Yards. The Calimdoor Drive Yards (CDY) were selected to construct the flagship of the new Seventh Armada. During the civil war, the Confederate Navy severely damaged the shipyards. The Galactic Federation Restoration Committee had the shipyards rebuilt instead of attempting to repair them. After their repair, the shipyards began to work at three times their original potential. Several years after the end of the war, the shipyards were once again severely damaged, this time by Tarsonian rebels. Afterwards, the Galactic Federation rebuilt the shipyards once more.

Calimdoor Drive Yards were commissioned with seven yards, three of which being small yards, two being medium, and two being large. After the rebuilds, the shipyard production capabilities were tripled.
