I'm sorry to hear you are so intimidated by DoA, but well here are a few suggestions on my part. I purchased my first girl from a DoA member and it went smoothly. If you give us a link to the thread we might be able to help more than just giving advice with no info... but for now

When I purchased my doll all I said was basically "Hi I am interested in purchasing your doll" I also asked if I could see a pic of the doll's head with no wig on it so I could see the full face-up because it was kinda hidden in some of the pictures.

The seller didn't have a set price down for the doll, he was just "taking offers" so I talked to a friend of mine about what kinda price a good offer would be and once I saw the photo I sent him my offer. We haggled a bit (actually he haggled me up... I'm terrible at haggling. XD), and then I paid and he shipped her to me.

If your seller has a set price listed you should just be like "Hey I am interested in purchasing your doll" in your PM. There isn't really some secret form you have to fill out or anything, just let the person know you are interested and they can get back to you.

He's a beautiful boy, I can see why you love him so much. I hope you're able to get him. I can understand why you'd be so intimidated in PMing someone, it's like calling someone up on the phone you've never met. I'm in the middle of a transaction with someone on the marketplace and it's gone very smoothly. My experience was a little different in that I was offering to trade a doll for her boy. She only had up that she was selling him and the price, but I PMed her, telling her I loved her doll and asked if she'd be interested in a trade. Fortunately for me, she ended up loving my girl, so my girl will be going to her, and I'll get her boy. So don't be too afraid to PM and ask questions. Even just by saying your interested and opening a dialogue between the two of you is enough. You can work out any details as the two of you talk back and forth.

I had stalked the thread but the minute I went away it shot up over my price range...
And I wasn't able to get a small loan out of my mother...
