The band name is taken from the sword Thyrfing, which is a cursed blade that appears in several Scandinavian tales and myths.
Thyrfing has delivered its very own brew of Metal music since 1995. After five full-length albums and numerous live performances the band now stands on the steps of their 12th year as a band, still carrying the integrity and trademarks known since the self-titled debut album (199 cool , brought forth through “Valdr Galga” (1999), “Urkraft” (2000), “Vansinnesvisor” (2002), and last displayed on “Farsotstider” (2005).

I've only heard two of their songs but once again they are a band that makes some music that I do enjoy.
I so didn't know about the sword part, but now I do so thanks. xd

I bought Vansinnesvisor today, and I really enjoy the album...but it could have been recorded better.

Thyrfing is one of my fave viking metal bands. My favourite album is Vansinnesvisor, and other songs. <3

From what I've heard from them I like Farsotstider and Vansinnesvisor the most.

I haven't heard anything from Farsotstider, is it as good as Vansinnesvisor?

Digital Malevolence I haven't heard anything from Farsotstider, is it as good as Vansinnesvisor? I'd say it's a little bit behind that, but still good. There's three tracks from this myspace.

I like 'em. The black metal influence stands out, I like it.
