Hyta is the fourth planet in the Mar System, the sister world of Tarsonis, and was one of the first planets to join the Confederacy Empire after its founding. Hyta was colonized by the Tarsonian people shortly after the Humans from Dojouro made contact with them. Surveys of the world identified hundreds of veins of an important metal used in starship construction, making the world very valuable. Hyta became one of the richest planets in the Empire, selling the important mineral to all starship producing facilities. In the later years, more metal veins were discovered, and vehicle production facilities were constructed, increasing the value of Hyta. During the Galactic Civil War started by Admiral Tahiri Veila Panjirinanu against the Empire, Hyta' garrision was reinforced in an attempt to prevent the world from falling to the Restoration Alliance. What the Confederacy did not expect waiting for them was a full fledged Tarsionian fighting force waiting to engage them. The planet fell under the control of the Tarsonians. After the war ended, Hyta was the first planet to rebel and join forces with Tarsonis to form the Tarsonian Quadrant.

Throughout the entire war with the Galactic Federation, Tarsonis dismissed the achievements of Hyta, even after a major shipyard was completed and began to churn out warships. Near the end of the war, there was a military stand-off between Federation forces and the Tarsonian navy. However, after years of living in Tarsonis' shadow, the Hytan people began to rebel against the Tarsonians and forced them out, joining forces with the Galactic Federation. After a military coup on the planet, the interim government sued the Galactic Federation for peace and assisted in the end of the war effort. After the completion of the war, Hyta applied to be a member world of Galactic Federation, which was approved. Hyta received a lot of aid to rebuild and expand their shipyard, which began to produce ships for the Galactic Federation navy.
