I think that the only book that I've preordered was the sixth Harry Potter book. However, that was only because we ordered it through Scholastic....

I've pre-ordered I think all of the Harry Potter Series and the third book of the "Ranger's Apprentice" series. Other than that I haven't really pre-ordered any books except of summer reading books for school because stores tend to run out quickly...

Sometimes i pre-order sometimes i don't i all depends on the cost of the book becuase if i know i can get one cheaper i wait and buy that one. It depends on lots of different things wether i pre-order or not.

Does it count as pre-ordering if I put myself on a waiting list before my library (or any library) actually gets it in stock?

Depends on how long I've waited for it to come out and how much I like the author or series.

I'm trying to order a copy of this year's Newbery winner (for my Newbery collection) from my local Borders, but they keep sending me postcards saying "publisher says this is out of stock". Barnes&Noble, on the other hand, has a pre-order button on their website. I'm tempted...

I've only pre-ordered once, and it was for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I was just too excited not to. X3

I think I might do it again with Breaking Dawn... just to know I'll have a copy that day it comes out.

In my previous post, I was thinking about pre-ordering Breaking Dawn.
Well, I did! Had it done yesterday up at B.A.M.
I'm so excited. 3nodding
I kept staring at the ticket hoping time would suddenly fly and it would be the day to pick up my copy. xd

I only pre-order if it's a book from a series that I LOVE, like Harry Potter or Eragon. If it's merely from a series I deem "good, but not great" then I can wait.
