Bastion Laboratories was created during the catholic take over, and is a facility dedicated to the research of magic, holy, and un-holy phenomena. The foundation was originally funded by Viasoft. The head and director of research was a doctor by the name of Gasten. He directed the research successfully for ten years, but Viasoft cut his funding when he began research in a direction that they were uncomfortable with, and that would possibly be not media friendly. Furious, he stormed out, leaving his secondary and good friend, Aaron, in charge of the corporation.
Bastion is one of the best legal ways to get anything from life saving enchantments, magical grafts, or experimental weapons. However, don't even come near the facility without your paycheck: An appointment to buy requires a 20,000$ reservation just for their time. Their goods and services can land you anywhere from 50,000$-20,000,000$. And, of course, they are not without their own security. They have at least thirty guards patrolling at any one time, with another fifty on site ready to be called to action. Rumor has it that not only do these guards have advanced tech, but have been taught many of the magical techniques as guinea pigs.

Aaron sat in his office, lights turned low with his head in his hands. It was a stressful day, and as Lizzy, his secretary, rang him to tell him that Bruno, head of security, was on line one, he knew his day could only get worse.
"Sir, we have a situation at USA Mall."
Aaron sighed. He hated USA Mall.
"One of our plants was in the process of reporting a deadly situation, when his transmission was cut off."
"Dare I ask why this concerns me?"
"Well, while we can't confirm anything, it seems the man responsible was collecting blood."
This bit of news made Aaron sit up. Was this what he was looking for or just another blood mage letting lose some anger? Regardless, he decided to go immediately.
"I'll take care of this. Keep our men away." And with that Aaron hung up.
As he quickly made his way towards a telalink, a new device that was currently being tested by Bastion laboratories for the church. This new technology would hopefully give them the edge in war against terrorist groups. This telalink would bring him to its sister unit, which was placed just outside of the front of USA mall, behind a dumpster as to not be noticed.
