1989-1990
In the conference Eastern Championship game, Detroit faced Chicago, with the No.23, Michael Jordon. Detroit beat Chicago in the series in one of the biggest series ever, well for Chicago.
1990-1991
The next very year, Chicago with the same player and number, 23, became NBA champions beating the Lakers.
2005-2006
Cleveland Cavaliers faced off against Detroit in the semifinals, #23 being Lebron James, the sensation from Cleveland that had many names to him other then MVP and NBA champ. Detroit beat Cleveland in game 7 and continued. Mainly because of Flip Murray ******** us up but that's a different story.
2006-2007
The Cavaliers faced off against the same team that knocked them off the ladder last year, Detroit. But this year is different, by beating Detroit and actually finishing them off this year in game 6. Lebron James with the same number 23, and they today go to the Finals.
What this leads up to, is that lightning is very, very close to striking twice in the same twice. Michael Jordon 23, Lebron James 23. Will the Cavaliers come and beat the Spurs? I think so, nothing can beat the number 23. And today, I have created the saying of NBA that explains everything this year.
Believe the number 23.

Michael Jordon was one of the best basketball players of all time. Just because he wore a certain shirt doesn't mean the numbers special. Does that mean if play hockey with an 87 jersey I'll be the next Crosby?
Someone else wears the number 23... Not a surprise. He could wear it BECAUSE of Michael Jordon, and the player just so happens to be good. Someone strove to be like his hero in two ways, in skill and in number. There's nothing special about it.

Though I am glad to hear the Cavs won. For some reason I don't like Detroit, not matter what sport the city represents. Hate the Red Wings, hate the Pistons, hate the Tigers. Don't know why.
