Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence. -- Richard Dawkins
Religion teaches the dangerous nonsense that death is not the end. -- Richard Dawkins
I am against religion because it teaches us to be satisfied with not understanding the world. -- Richard Dawkins
By all means let's be open-minded, but not so open-minded that our brains drop out. -- Richard Dawkins,
Faith is powerful enough to immunize people against all appeals to pity, to forgiveness, to decent human feelings. It even immunizes them against fear, if they honestly believe that a martyr's death will send them straight to heaven. -- Richard Dawkins, The Selfish Gene
Yes, testosterone-sodden young men too unattractive to get a woman in this world might be desperate enough to go for 72 private virgins in the next. -- Richard Dawkins,
If people think God is interesting, the onus is on them to show that there is anything there to talk about. Otherwise they should just shut up about it. -- Richard Dawkins
You cannot be both sane and well educated and disbelieve in evolution. The evidence is so strong that any sane, educated person has got to believe in evolution. -- Richard Dawkins
It is absolutely safe to say that, if you meet somebody who claims not to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid or insane (or wicked, but I'd rather not consider that). -- Richard Dawkins
The enlightenment is under threat. So is reason. So is truth. So is science, especially in the schools of America. I am one of those scientists who feels that it is no longer enough just to get on and do science. We have to devote a significant proportion of our time and resources to defending it from deliberate attack from organized ignorance. We even have to go out on the attack ourselves, for the sake of reason and sanity. Of course, excellent organizations already exist for raising funds and deploying them in service of reason, science and enlightenment values…But the money that these organizations can raise is dwarfed by the huge resources of religious foundations such as the Templeton Foundation, not to mention the tithe-bloated, tax-exempt churches. -- Richard Dawkins,
I had always been scrupulously careful to avoid the smallest suggestion of infant indoctrination, which I think is ultimately responsible for much of the evil in the world. Others, less close to her, showed no such scruples, which upset me, as I very much wanted her, as I want all children, to make up her own mind freely when she became old enough to do so. I would encourage her to think, without telling her what to think. -- Richard Dawkins,

Who is this Richard Dawkins person?
I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. You are so unlike your Christ. --Mahatma Gandhi (did I spell that right?)

All these quotes are not wise but people who have not "researched the evidence" on the topic of which they speak. If they knew anything about faith....they wouldn't be talking about it in that way. Are you an atheist trying to proof to Christian that science does not proof Christianity? May I suggest reading a "Case for a Creator", "Case for Faith" and "Case for Christ" or here's an idea reading the Bible before you try posting "wise" quotes?

Most of these quotes are from C.S. Lewis. The first is a quote about science by some random guy who I have never heard of before. For more go to www.christianquotes.org
"You ask for a practical direction to teach you to die well....Detach your souls from everything that you love, separate from God. This, in a few words, is the science of dying." - Louis Bourdaloue
"The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us; just as the roof of a sunhouse does not attract the sun because it is bright, but becomes bright because the son shines on it." - C.S. Lewis
"When you are arguing against Him, you are arguing against the very power that makes you able to argue at all." - C.S. Lewis
"It is simple religions that are the made-up ones." - C.S. Lewis
If Christianity is untrue, then no honest man will want to believe it, however helpful it might be: if it is true, every honest man will want to believe it, even if it gives him no help at all." - C.S. Lewis
"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling 'darkness' on the wall of his cell..." - C.S. Lewis
"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." - C.S. Lewis
"If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark." - C.S. Lewis
"A little lie is like a little pregnancy---it doesn't take long before everyone knows." - C.S. Lewis
"A man can eat his dinner without understanding exactly how food nourishes him. A man can accept what Christ has done without knowing how it works: indeed, he certainly would not know how it works until he has accepted it." - C.S. Lewis
"The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God." - C.S. Lewis
