The small girl had always had an affinity for trees, something that seemed to carry over as she grew into the teen that now sat perched like a small canary in a high branch.
She aimed at various things below her, a rock, a smaller tree...people walking the path to the castle...and fired small bolts of energy at them. She giggled girlishly as someone jumped at yelled below her.
Jubilee knew she should be using her fireworks for better use, but she had practiced for so long to get aim down, she couldn't waste it NOW, could she?

In a flash of dark blue magic, the teenage sorceror stepped through the portal he'd created, a large ragged book in hand. He always loved coming out to the forest to read, it was always so quiet and peaceful; so different from his home.
At least, it usually was quiet here.
Mozenrath watched as a few people ran past him, their heads shielded under their arms. Had it not been for their cries of a 'haunted tree', the teen would have left in search of a quieter place, but with the promise of possibly aquiring something magical, the sorceror was hesitant to leave.
"How naive people are," Moze muttered as he strode over to where the others ran from, cautiously watching the trees for signs of movement. "Haunted trees? As if."

"Wooooo!" The teen had her hands cupped around her mouth, trying not to laugh as she attempted ghost noises. Any idiot would be able to tell, though, that it was just that. A silly little girl making sounds.
She kicked her feet in glee, sending leaves spinning at a leisurely pace to the ground and sent a few more fireworks at the person approaching the tree. Jubilee couldn't see who it was, being far up, but knew that if she was spotted up there, the game would come to an abrupt end.

The teen stepped back slightly as he heard the noise, startled to have actually heard someone respond to his comment. Whoever this foolish person was, they had just made his search so much easier.
He took a few paces towards the tree, watching as as a rain of foliage and sparks fell to the ground, a few burning him slightly in the process. He couldn't tell who was hiding amongst the leaves, but the sparks were familiar.
"Come out, come out, where ever you are!" His gauntlet began to glow as he shouted, ready to defend himself just in case.

The voice seemed very familiar to the young teen, and so she decided (knowing many of the teens in that particular area were prone to have special talents) to decend from the tree.
She swung downwards, jumping from branch to branch, finally landing on the lowest branch and sitting down.
"Why hello there, stranger," she said, laughing. "And put that away, no one's here to attack you."

Familiarity...
He sensed it too as he looked up at the teen in the tree... but he just couldn't place a name with the face.
"I beg to differ." He retorted as he let his gloved hand fall loosely to his side. " I mean, firing fire and leaves at me? Sounds pretty hostile to me... I mean, you could have gotten me dirty after all."
All in good fun of course, at least until he could figure out who this girl was. So familiar, but who?
"Now this stranger comment... Don't tell me you've never heard of the great sorcerer Mozenrath."

"The 'great' sorcerer?" Jubilee asked, laughing. Her sides hurt from laughing and finally she fell back, hooking her legs on the tree branch and swinging back and forth on the tree branch, still giggling.
From upside down, she blinked her her almond eyes at Mozenrath. "Hostile? I didn't even hit you." Not that she couldn't...
She shrugged, which hard considering where she was. "Anyway, back to this 'great' thing. What makes you so great? You're just a teenage boy. Everybody your age thinks they're the best."

"What makes me so great? Why... this." Mozenrath replied with a slight frown at her laughter, snapping his gloved fingers. As he did his thin frame lifted slightly into the air to now stand face to upside-down face with the teen. It wasn't much of a trick, and he didn't dare risk going any higher, but what other person could possibly fly with wings?
"Now... I never said that you did hit me..." He shrugged, folding his arms over his chest. "It was a mere joke girl."
"But... I've shown you one of my many talents... but what makes you so great?"

Hey, he shoulda flown her around when she was little! That jerk! Oh well...
Jubilee smiled an upside down grin. "I didn't know you joked." That was news to her, anyway.
She huffed and crossed her arms over her chest. "I never claimed to be a great anything, that was you." The dark haired teen touched Mozenrath's nose and carefully, with all the restraint she could muster, and sparked on single spark, leaving a speck of soot on his nose.
"That," she said, giggling and streching out her arms and sending a shower from each hand to the ground. As she did, her yellow rubbery gloves fell from the back pocked of her jeans.

"What can I say? When you live with the idiots I do, you learn to lighten up slightly..."
He paused as her hand moved closer to his face, unsure of what to do. As startled as the teen was at this girl's actions, he was even more shocked at the spark that zapped his nose. He took a step backwards in an attempt to avoid the shower of sparks but, as his concentration waned from his magic to the light show before him, he lost focus and dropped a few feet to the ground.
"Dammit, still not strong enough..." He muttered under his breath in irritation as his dark blue eyes looked up at the girl in the tree, realization hitting him at last.
"...Jubilee? Is... Is that you?"

As if to positivly identifiy herself, she finally lost her hold on the tree.
"AGGH!" she cried, holding out her arms to brace herself to hit the ground. Her sparks flaired as she fell, which slowed her inpact with the dirt path.
Rolling over onto her back, she wipped dirt off her face and laid her head back.
"Hiya. Long time no see, eh?"
