Hi I was wondering what the people of this guild used for their paper craft models as far as tools and materials.
What I use:
Self-healing mat (around 12x12in)- for cutting pieces on
X-acto knife- for cutting pieces out
Small pair of swing scissors -for larger pieces
Elmer's Glue
White Cardstock (I buy a pack of 50 sheets or so for about $2-3, mush less expensive than buying by the sheet.)
Sprayable Fixatif- to protect finished models and in some cases strengthen them (depending on how many coats that you use). This comes in satin finish or glossy. I haven't had the chance to try glossy yet though. I've seen it go from $2 to $10 The stuff at my college's store runs about $10 but you can draw on top of it if you wanted to outline anything in pen, etc.
paint tray- works well for holding the glue while working w/ it in larger volumes than dots.
Most of the materials are fairly inexpensive, the fixatif being optional, and the craft mat ranging in price depending on size.
If anyone has their own favorite materials things that work for them please post.
