"I'm sure it has gotta cost something, but hopefully your guardian is generous enough to let you go, eh?" He smiles down on the eager Legend, shuffling April higher against his shoulder. She barely opens her eyes, snuggling deeper into his jacket's fluff.
His purpose of escape seems to slip away while talking to the girl, for he continues on, "I do love my guitar. I wouldn't ever imagine my life without it right now. I'd probably still be at home - my guardian's home, that is - just like any other boy. It isn't like I have special looks or gifts like other Legends do."
He neglects to get into the business of Rangerisms. Much too complex for relaxed conversation. Instead, he digs into his pocket and produces a guitar pick, holding it out for her. "It's an old one, so you can go ahead and keep it. It's proved to give me luck in the past, so hopefully that'll pass on to you." It shimmers gold in the sunlight, silver writing engraved into it. 'Faith,' it states plainly, the writing slanted.

Gyre took the pick gratefully. She'd seen rock stars use it to play the guitar on television. Standing before her, Gyre realized that Dare did, indeed, look like a rock star. She smiled warmly. "You do have a gift! Your musical talent and your love for April. Those are great gifts!"
Faith. Gyre looked down at the pick again. She would have to give somethng to Dare as well. She had to repay him for his kindness. Her mind had already begun plotting when she spoke to him again.
"Lu is very nice, though she is really weird. Is your Guardian really weird? Is that why you left the house?" She was full of questions. Never before had she met a teenage Legend. And he was very friendly.

The faint and growing sound of a siren jolts Dare into alertness, pressing April tighter against his shoulder. He's almost like a skittish squirrel hoarding a nut from a rival who wants to steal it, but this lasts for only a few seconds. He can't risk to let on that, if not now, he'd be sought after by the authorities.
"It was very nice talking to you," he hurriedly states, brushing aside questions of why he'd left. They're pretty much the same as the ones he's using to leave now. "I hope we run into one another again. Perhaps at the HQ. Or maybe I'll spot you through a dance studio window?"
He gives her a smile, though is already backing up to leave without explination. It seems a custom for him, to leave abruptly..

Gyre was surprised, if not a bit saddened, by Dare's abrupt retreat. She rather liked talking to him, but he was an adult, and had places to be. He seemed... scared. She felt terrible suddenly, but she had to let him leave.
"I'd be more than happy to met you again, Dare." she breathed and bowed as best a ballerina could. She waved to him slowly as she saw him retreat.

He gives her a relieved smile, if not only for the fact that she let him leave without questions. "Goodbye Gyre," he calls out, stepping backwards to keep an eye on her. "Until next time!"
With that, he hurries off down the path, out of sight but perhaps not out of mind.
[Thanks! That was great fun, >3.]
