So who went to go see this movie so far? Who wants to? Who /doesn't/ love Jack Sparrow?
I went to go see it Sunday, and /loved/ it. I loved it so much, I want to go see it again. The action was awesome, and Jack Sparrow... Was Jack Sparrow.
When I was going into the movie, I thought it'd be the last and it'd end as a trilogy. Now.. I'm not so sure. There's so many unanswered questions about the movie. Here's an example; does Elizabeth age every 10 years now that Will is now who he is? Does Jack get the Black Pearl back? There's so many questions that I ponder. D:

Haven't seen the film yet, but on a slightly related note, I found out today that Depp is apparently moving into a house just down the road from me, down in the depths of Hampshire! eek
Right next to the yacht club, too, so maybe he's decided to turn into Jack Sparrow full time? lol

Rumour had it that he was moving to Bath. I guess they lost out then smile
I've now seen it twice. I think that says all you need to know about my views on the movie smile
I may have to get the soundtrack too - I managed to resist no. 2, but this one is great.
Hoist the colours high!

I should find the time to see it soon, once most of the exams have gone away.

Managed to see it yesterday, and broke my two year holiday from the cinema! I can't believe I haven't been for that long! eek
It was definitely an enjoyable film, effects were great, pace was just about perfect, and Jack was stranger than ever! mrgreen
They certainly left the ending wide open for another film, though. wink

Having actually seen AWE with Vulpinity, I should really've posted sooner... redface
I enjoyed it. The comedy/drama blend was far, far more subtle than in DMC, and that made the whole thing run a lot smoother.
I wish that the scene with the conversation about the exact nature of Davy Jones' curse'd been left in the final cut, though. The after-credits scene doesn't exactly make it clear, and whilst it's nice to not be spoon-fed, the amount of bickering about it that I seem to see on the 'net seems to suggest that this was one case where stamping on a loose end couldn't hurt.

There are conflicting theories flying on the net?
Can you give us an idea? At least in a spoiler tag, maybe.
And I agree with you, I thought the movie held together much better than DMC. While the latter had many amusing one-liners, it seemed to veer without warning between comedy and dark "realism", if one can use that word about a movie about pirates & Davey Jones. Maybe seeing it at 10pm on a Friday as I did didn't show it in its best light, but I was unimpressed at the time - Jack was a joy to watch as always, but the film seemed somewhat schizophrenic.

I must cofess to preferring DMC. Yes, this one had better humour, but it was plotwise rather a mess.
