Did you take any art classes?
I did, but it's didn't help me on how to draw bodies or anime. The only I learned was how to do shadows and give it some detail.
Well, that's harder than it looks, and can make such a difference.
And for bodies it's usually Life Drawing... I still remember when my roommate came back from her first LD class, still half in shock and almost twitching. Apparently nude models aren't always particularly attractive. Or young. x_X*
