I just found an amazing website, which offers instructions on the manufacture and operation of an alcohol producing still. http://www.amazingstill.com/ I thought I'd get started by buying the necessary parts. They are as follows:

One 25-30 liter (6-7 US gallons) food grade, non-colored, wine fermentation bucket with a cork and thermostat heater.

12.6 inch roundplate

One small bucket, exactly 4 inches high.

One ten liter bucket that is 9 inches in height.

One fermentation water lock.

A digital cooking thermometer that will monitor the mash temperature.






I shall report in a future post where and how I purchased the equipment.

My mother made their own beer in chemistry in college. I doubt they do that anymore. confused
