It's a disease your pokemon can catch that gives the special qualities. I don't remember what qualities, but it's a very good thing, and so long as you always have ONE pokemon with it, you will always have it.
Believe me it's a very good thing to have.

It causes the infected Pokemon to gain more experience than usual, so they grow faster.
If you have one infected in your party it spreads to the rest of your party.

If you have one infected in your party it spreads to the rest of your party.
The Pokerus stays latent for 24 hours when the Pokemon is outside the PC, if the 24 hours pass and the Pokemon is still outside it losses the ability to spread the Pokerus, but it still gains double EP's.
It spreads by doing battles with an infected Pokemon in your team, after a few battles it should spread to the adjacent Pokemon, and from those to the ones next to them, and so on.
