Nose scrunching slightly as Cyrus passed Inari couldn’t help but feel as if he had somehow been shown up. He had wanted to be rid of this ulaya, and though not quite the way he had wanted it had brought about the same end. So why did he feel so irritated? He wanted nothing more than to storm after Cyrus, stamp his feet like a sulky kid and demand why Cyrus had simply left.
Instead he settled on striking the water reflected image of a white and red prince that glowered up at him. He’d never met another before that hadn’t simply folded under his gaze - his gem. Cyrus had of course been the exception to this; and at first he had felt almost patronized. Which had evolved into curiosity over time and then to plain annoyance that he hadn’t seemed able to capture the ulayas attention as he did with others.
Not quite receiving the satisfaction he had wanted as he watched the water settle again as though nothing had happened, he took to scanning the area.
This forest was where he had lived, though a short time, and he knew it as well as… well, as well as the back of a complete strangers hand; which admittedly wasn’t much. An exasperated sigh escaped his muzzle as he rolled his eyes to the heavens. “Perhaps… I should take more time learning the area next time.” Or perhaps I should just drag some pitiful ulaya around that knows the place next time.
