Very interesting. I think the butcher boy sounds interesting. I love investing hostile spirits, it's dangerous but exciting. I feel sorry for the cat. I'd offer it friendship, perhaps then it's spirit can rest. Same for the grey lady. As for the shadows, I believe they are just imprints. That means, something happened in the house or perhaps they got stuck in a rut while living. Their spirits imprinted on the house and now their energy replays itself.
Try this. This is how you can tell if its nothing more than an imprint. When you go to descend the stairs, stop at the tops step. I'm sure the man will go right through you and not stop and the dog will either A) try to bite the man. B) Greet the man. Or C) Carry on with its own bussiness.
I know this from experience. Alot of the ghosts I investigate turn out to be nothing more than imprints. Don't bother trying to communicate with them, because they're not concious beings. I could compare them to a finger print or a bit of blood. Just a remnant of what once was.
