So. I've been keeping tabs on social opinions. And I have to say that as a society- we're pretty ******** messed up.
Like, if you say you have lower than supermodel standards of appearances people think you're a slut or a hideous freak.
But if you say just that you have standards, then people assume that you're a vain b***h.
Some people think it's nobler and that somehow you have to to ignore looks in favor of personality, but often times these are the same people who would be physically ill if you set them up on a blind date with Quasimodo.
I met a fun guy during the long weekend, thanks to Spleen + company.
Was he hot? I'd say he's more like average, but after hanging out for a while I mentally upgraded him to cute.
Would I do him? Probably, given the chance to know him better.
Does that make me a slut? I don't think so. But then again, if you look at my dating history you'll see that I've never been exceptionally picky about looks.
Then does that mean I'm a hag? No, not really. I'm average to the umpteenth degree- and not tv average, real life average.

I can't say I even have standards, since to me "standards" means a person must meet certain criteria to be worthy of being in my good favor, and I simply don't look at people as sets of criteria, or maybe I'm just unable to break a person down that way.
Anyway, looks are definitely the least important criterion there can be when judging a person's worth. Supermodel schmoopermodel.
