My divorce is finalized, and my ex and I have been separated for a good long while. And I've been ready to get out there again for a while. I've been very good friends with a guy on Gaia for about 4 years. We started out as aquantainces as members of the same guild, then grew to be friends, and then best friends. But then I fell in love with him. But there are two big issues 1) He lives in Illinois and I'm stuck here in Utah and 2)He's Jewish. I don't have a problem with him being Jewish, or with travelling back and forth to see each other. But i don't know how to broach the subject with him. I don't know what to do.

Just start with a visit. Preferrably, with him coming to see you and lots of your friends/family around for safety. I've met people over the internet before, but I always take precautions if I'm meeting them in person. And it doesn't even have to be a romantic type visit. Just say you think it'd be fun to meet one another in person. Or wait, does he have feelings for you as well?

redface I don't know if he does. I think so. We've been supportive of each other through out every realtionship we've each had over the past 4 years, and there always seems to be an air of disappointment when either of us end up with someone else, but its never been formally said.

A visit might be a good way to finally see where you stand. I know that if you don't, there's always going to be that "what if?"

Just tell him it'd be fun if he came to visit! Nothing romantic and no pressure. Just something fun to do, and see what happens smile
