Tassos thought about this, though nothing became clearer. What was this supposed to be all about? Was this supposed to be the thing that made him think otherwise about her?
He stopped and looked down, searching the ground for nothing as he waited to see if the world exploded or if Hathor was going to turn into a hideous monster. Neither of which actually happened and he looked back up.
"Okay," he said, wide-eyed.

"I didn't know if you would care....or understand...but I had to tell you." She reached over, hugged him and sighed again. "We've been friends so long...and it felt almost like I was lying to you, keeping that to myself."

Slowly, the little fire that was the light in Tassos' mind was given its kindling and a tiny spark tried desperately to ignite it.
"You mean you wanna be like... girl and boy? Like those little songbirds that have been making all those little nests in my briarberry garden?"

"Sorta." Hathor murmured and rested her head against his shoulder. "But, I can understand if you don't want to." Her arms tightened around him ever so slightly as she hoped he wouldn't push her away or reject her, even if she wasn't a centaur like he was.

"Hmph, I don't care whatcha wanna do," Tassos folded his arms, mistaking apathy for the normal response to this. "But..."
Tassos looked to the shore and thought on it, the bangs of his hair curling down and over his eyes before being pushed aside by the sea breeze.
"But if you wanna hang around with us, Warren and me I mean, maybe we shouldn't just be wandering around all the time then. Y'know, like... mmmaybe we could, like..."
Okay, now this was getting awkward and embarassing. He'd been planning on building a place to stay with his baby brother already but now there were other people involved and he'd never been close to anyone. How DID you ask people if they wanted to be roommates?

"You...don't care?" Hathor drew back a little, her expression somewhere between suprise and hurt. She chewed her lower lip and half closed her eyes. "Like, what?"

"Yeah, if you wanna be with me or not I'm not gonna say you can't," he nodded, confused at her reaction. "I was gonna ask if you wanted to build a house with me and Warren. Well, mostly me. Warren will mostly sleep and be a pest."
He stood up and stretched his legs, flicking his tail. "We're gonna build ourselves a place to stay somewhere near the meadow, so Warren can have a place to play and I can start growing better food instead of going all over the place to find it."

"I want to...but it's something both us should decide." Maybe she had misunderstood his answer to her. "I'd really like that, Tassos." She smiled faintly and looked up at him.

"Well, I said I was okay with it if you wanted to," Tassos picked up Warren and held him, the pup wouldn't've turned otherwise in his sleep. "He sleeps like a dead rock, is what. Anyway, like I was sayin'. I don't care what you decide, but you gotta tell me soon so I can build you a spare room. I got most of it figured out in my head and I know a Cervitaur who knows how to make huts and houses."
He wondered how many times he had to repeat himself.

The cattaur grinned. She had misunderstood him. "Yes, to both." It hadn't required a thought, it was something she'd wanted for a long time and was glad she finally told him. Hathor got to her feet and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek this time.

"Come on with us, then, if you're comin'," Tassos said, putting Warren back into his sling. "We haven't even yet picked a spot and right now it's time to find a place to build a fire and go to sleep."

"Alright...just let me get Isis up and put out this fire." Hathor walked to the kittens side and bent down, giving her little shoulder a shake.
The blue point kitten-taur swatted at the offending hand. "Sleepy!" She muttered.
The elder cattaur gave her another gentle shake. "Time to get up for a little bit Isis, Tassos came for a visit."
Isis started to sit up, yawned widely and rubbed her eyes. "Tassos?"
In the meantime Hathor kicked a little beach sand onto the small fire to extinguish it.
