Ok here is my problem... I love playing bass a great deal. But lately I have lost interest in it. Its driving me crazy because I see my bass and i plug in and get ready to play. I play about an hour or two. But then it gets boring. I do know alot of songs (not showing off), but i get bored while learning a new one. Can someone give me some words of inspiration and determination.

Advertise for the kind of band you want to play in post flyers and bullitions on the internet some one will find you for sure. Also if you're really board try breaking off into some thing new and different, I know if you are really quick you could try playing some of the guitar riffs from bands like children of bodom or cradle of filth. (I feel awful recomending cradle cuz I don't like the band, but they have some crazy fast complicated guitar lines.) Don't try the bass though its usually fairly easy to pick up.

Shagorathe Lol The last to bands didnt work out cuz i play to fast and to complicated +_+ Then another band i joined told me they were an emo band so i quit ahha I play fast and tech. too... but with my old band I learned that, within a band situation, less is more a lot of the time... any ways.... delve into some new ideas and theory and stuff... what Ive always been taught by my pops is that, things tend to get boring when you dont know what you're playing... theory wise that is... it opens up so many more ideas and what not

you should form a band and write your own stuff. thatll solve it being too fast and complicated. also.....dont play fast all the time its fine to do for solos but your not gonna get anywhere playing nothing but fast songs. look at some of the bassists from the famous bands. they dont only play fast stuff. they slow it down. it may seem easy but some of the easiest stuff is the best. you can get a good groove goin

yer man
most of the rich bassists people dont even know
and the reason thero so rich/saught after
is that...
they work well with others
thats what i'm trying to do
play well with anyone so i can be a an option for more bands
and less is usually more for bass

joining a band would prolly help your boredome with it, i would reccomend trying to make a game out of playing the bass, or get some friends who are good and see who can play better

Get a good band together..
And if not, look for something thats a challenge for you.. and if you cant find that in your own favorite music genre, try lookin into other genres you have yet to discover domokun .

Hey, you sound like you've got it all worked out - I can only practice for about a half an hour before I give up. I guess it's just cause I'm not too good at it yet.. but you definetly sound ready to hit a stage.
