The Gaian Market
It is a well known fact that most Gaians shop in the Marketplace, assuming that items sold by vendors will cost less than items sold sold by NPCs. More often than not, this is true, even if only by 1 gold.
It is also a well known fact that the Marketplace is the only place to get monthly avatar items WITHOUT paying cash.
Method 1: "Buying Out" the Competition
Some vendors sell items for prices ridiculously lower than they are worth. In this method, you buy an item for a low price and sell it for slightly higher (low enough to remain the lowest price on the market). If said item is something mundane, then the profit might not be as high. However, if the item is a monthly item, then the profit may be significant.
However, if the lowest price of a certain item is being sold for the same price by ANOTHER vendor, then this method might not work so well.
Example:
-The lowest price of a certain item of clothing is selling for 2000 gold by a vendor. The second lowest price of the same item is selling for 3000 gold by another vendor.
-Buy said item selling for 2000 gold.
-Sell the item for higher than 2000 gold and lower than 3000 gold.
-After item is sold, buy the NEXT lowest-priced item and repeat the method.

Or would, if I had more money.
But right now, my wealth is in crappy mc's that deflated as soon as I bought them.
I could, however, try that out later. XP

Here's two things I've done. Buy something that is in your price range on the market place, and then when the price goes up then sell it. Or you can buy envelopes or items for may and then keep that and let it fester. You know how some items were really cheap, but now their really expensive. Let this month's mcs fester and become thousands of gold. This could take a reaaaallly long time though so be patient. I'm new to vending too and I'm not that rich, but I've made a good deal of gold off of the first method.

You really need to know the general ranges of prices that items sell within. Watch the MP closely and use tektek.org as a reference.

(I'm a horrible vendor also).
The only time I actually made money was when I bought a bao for 20g (I'm dead serious x3) and I sold it for 29.5k >:B

i was just wondering about the advised bidding time for an item in the shop. i usually like to keep things flowing out of my shop so i can add more items from my inventory. however is there a greater risk of losing money this way?
