On Tuesday I am getting my next ultrasound done, and hopefully finding out the sex of my baby. 4laugh

So in my excitement and out of curiousity, what are some of your favorite old wives tales about pregnancy? This can include ones that don't involve gender.

I don't like any of them. Too many people actually believe them. xd Although the whole evil eye/having to touch the belly one always amused me!

And have fun with the u/s, hope the baby cooperates so you can get the sex!

The wha huh? Never heard that one, I guess.

I hate old wives tales too, but some of them, geez.
When my friend was pregnant, she was standing on a bus and reached up to grab the bar above her head, and some old woman told her she shouldn't do that because reaching above her head would wrap the umbilical cord around the baby's neck.
Um... yeah.

I've heard that one too. One day, I was taking a nap, and I woke up to see my grandmother swinging a ring on a string over my tummy, trying to figure out the sex of the baby razz

When my Aunt was pregnant, I was watching this live action Hunchback of Notre Dame. She said she wouldn't watch it with me because supposedly in an old wives tale, pregnant woman looking at or watching things with deformities would cause the baby to hace a deformity.
