I think you are definitely getting Bizzaro and Doomsday mixed up. Doomsday was pretty much the smartest thing on Earth, once superman threw a hit at him he would automatically learn to deflect it if he ever tried using it again, he grew stronger with every hit. It was not at all stupid that was why it killed Superman.
Bizzaro, was basically the opposite of superman, he had pretty much all the same physical powers, but he was stupid and ugly. You would probably recognize Bizzaro #1, he was really short tempered and used horrible grammar...
