I am quite happy to be a Jew, but unfortunately because of where I live, I don't get to wear large Jewish star necklaces or put decorations up outside. I love being Jewish, I love being close to this amazing religion-- the feeling is quite indescribable, actually. I am proud to be a Jew, no matter what other people say or think. Unfortunately, things keep getting worse in the US, so I'm most likely moving at the very least states when I get older. xp

its called a star of david and i dont live in a place where there r a lot of jews but i still go 2 a temple and all and wear a star of david y dont u?

xp Thank you, but I do know it is called a Star of David.

I go to a temple as well, but the place I live isn't exactly know for its tolerance towards other religions. There's a prayer circle of diehard Christians in my school every morning, and I've been told I'm going to Hell at least a few times a week because I don't believe in "the Savior Jesus." Even just in casual conversation, stereotypes like "greedy Jew" are thrown around, and because I'm almost top ranked in my class, it apparently means I'm going to join in the plan to take over the world and all the banks. rolleyes

Some places just aren't as tolerant as others- I don't mean to be rude by saying this, but most are quite different. sweatdrop

And you don't move out of this sweet little community... because why?

Because I'm going off to college in a few years, where my parents will probably move back to Chicago and I'll go elsewhere.

Besides, it's not like I get any violence- just the random fanatical religious people. It could be much worse; I'm lucky 3nodding

This sounds very close to what I go through everyday. Except, if there is any shred of intelligence in what people say to you, it is completely absent with people around here. Some people are so slow, I can hardly function.

"Like OMG Catherine, where do you think the world came from if you don't believe in JESUS?!"

And you're high ranked in your class because you work hard, not because you want to take over the world. WTF is that about?!

"She's smart, so she must want all non Jews to die."
Completely logical.

But yes Cindy, we do have it easy. All we have to put up with is stupidity, but some people have to put up with violence as well. Bless those chillens for being so strong.

Divash
In a larger city, you have a bit better chance of finding a strong Jewish community. New York, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, LA, Toronto, Montreal. It's good to be a Jew in places like that.

Especially New York and Los Angeles, not to sound stereotypical x3
