OMG OMG.
As the scene of MerDer played out (you know, the one about Derek talking about the highlight of his week?), I had a revelation.
What if he's doing this on purpose? To drive Meredith away, so he can be Chief?

Wow---that's a really good idea. I hadn't even thought of that! But didn't Derek tell the Chief that he didn't want it? I feel bad for Webber---everyone ditched him!! Now what's he going to do after Adele came back?! ><
