By "obscure" I don't mean OMG NOT AVAILABLE IN THE STATES AND BARELY SUCH ONLINE LULZ, but more of a not been on TV, or at least not a really popular Cartoon Network show. Put simply, if it's NOT Naruto, Inuyasha, or Full Metal Alchemist, it's probably fine. Oh, no Fruits Basket or Host Club either. (though I'll make a Host Club thread after this). Oh, and manga counts too
My personal favorites under this category are Hellsing the manga, Black Cat, and Godchild. I have a lot more, though. If any of these titles sound familiar, along with any other titles that fit "obscure" by my definition, go for it!

One of my favorites is "Slayers". I'm not sure if you'd count that as obscure, but it hasn't been on T.V. in the states (that I'm aware of). I'm also a pretty big fan of Ranma 1/2, although I never finished watching the anime.

I'm not sure what's popular seeing as to how I don't watch much TV or don't know what's popular as far as Manga.
Although the one's you've mentioned I've heard of so I know they are popular. XP
I usually tell by how many people have cosplayed it. hehe
I know Narato is way popular. xp
I recently picked up this Manga called Vampire Doll by Tokyopop and I think it's great! I can't wait to pick up the next volume.
It's about this Vampire Aristrocrat who was sealed in a cross 100yrs ago and was brought back by an excorsist who brought him back as a cute girl doll. lol It's quite comical and just a fun story.

Nightwalker is kind of obscure... It only has 1 season that had 12 episodes. But I loved it anyways. The main character was a Vampire Detective by the Japanese name of Tatsuhiko Shido. He has purple hair...LoL.

Why do you love obscure anime?
I think it's kinda funny how sometimes, we like something because it's not well known...but when it get's all hollywood...we're like ehh.. lol
Why? Maybe because when we talk about it, we can be like the only one's who know what we are talking about... and tell people, "whaaa? You haven't heard of it???" lol

New addiction; Kyo Kara Maoh! More people should watch it. I mean, how many anime involve people getting flushed down the toilet?

Alice 19th and Azumanga Daioh, for me. Alice 19th was only a manga, and only had 6 or 7 books... but it was awesome! Imadoki was good, too, but not the same. Azumanga, it's just one of those things that some people have heard of but no one's read. It saddens me. crying
